Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist/Phlebotomy Technician

Limited medical radiologic technologist are trained to preform routine diagnostic X-ray exams of the skull, extremities and vertebral column. The emphasis of training is on anatomy of the human body and the proper positioning of the patient to achieve a quality radiograph. Students learn the theory of radiation production and the proper procedures and techniques to reduce radiation exposure to the patient and themselves. Students will also learn the operation, maintenance, and quality control of the radiology equipment. Skills on medical terminology, professionalism and patient care prepare the student to become an effective member of the health care team and provide quality care to their patients. Graduates will have obtained the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the state licensing exam and find employment in a variety of medical clinics and physicians offices.
Course Length: approximately 8.5 months
Upon completion of the course student will have the opportunity to test for the following licenses:
- Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist – Texas State License
- Phlebotomy – National License
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
