Medical assistants can fulfill both administrative and medical duties and often are answering phones, recording vital signs, preparing and administering medications, making appointments, and performing general laboratory tests.
Medical assistants who are pursuing a degree in health care can gain invaluable experience while working with patients and doctors in the field. Medical assistants often train to become nurses or doctors while they work.
